About Winsafe
Overview: Winsafe is a Canadian manufacturer of swing stages and custom suspended access equipment, including temporary suspended platforms and permanent access systems. Winsafe was acquired by AGF Group and became one of the two manufacturing divisions of AGF Access Group, alongside mast climber maker Hydro Mobile. BrandSafway completed its acquisition of AGF Access Group in March 2020, and Winsafe kept its brand name.
Winsafe built its reputation on swing stages and engineered suspended access for buildings and structures where standard platforms are not enough. Its brand is so well known in Canada that rental companies, including competitors, have shared and re-rented Winsafe equipment, a reflection of how the swing stage market works together on safety-critical equipment.
As part of AGF Access Group, Winsafe was combined with Hydro Mobile mast climbers and Raxtar products on custom access projects, and the group was known for engineering and manufacturing custom temporary suspended platforms and permanent access systems. Since joining BrandSafway, Winsafe sits within a larger family of access brands that includes Spider and Hydro Mobile. Through Scaffold Exchange, you can find Winsafe equipment and the providers who sell, rent, and service it.

OSHA Compliance & Safety Standards
On U.S. construction sites, suspended scaffolds using powered hoists fall under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.451 and 1926.452. Hoists must be tested and listed by a qualified testing laboratory, have normal and emergency braking, and be used within their rated load. Each worker on a two-point suspended scaffold must use both a guardrail system and a personal fall arrest system on an independent lifeline. Permanent building maintenance equipment falls under OSHA 1910.66. In Canada, provincial occupational health and safety regulations and CSA standards apply.
- Platforms and hoists used within rated loads
- Custom platforms built to engineered designs
- Platform and hoist combinations approved by the manufacturer
- Independent lifelines and fall arrest for every worker
- Rigging and counterweights checked by a competent person
- Operators trained on the specific equipment
