About Klimer Platforms
Overview: Klimer Platforms Inc. is a Milton, Ontario company that designs, manufactures, rents, sells, installs, and services mast climbing work platforms and transport platforms for construction and industrial projects. Founded by Jay Gordon, Klimer began manufacturing its own platforms in 2000 and serves customers across Canada and the United States.
Klimer was established in 1993 by Jay Gordon and started out supplying access equipment before becoming a manufacturer. In 2000, Klimer Manufacturing was created and began building its first mast climber, the KPM-8, followed by the KlimerLite in 2005. In 2011, Klimer acquired its Ohio distributor, Valco Scaffold, adding locations in Ohio and North Carolina, and in 2017 it acquired the manufacturing rights to the Hydek hydraulic mast climber line with plans to redesign it as a dedicated masonry machine.
Klimer is known for project-based access solutions that go beyond equipment rental, including engineering, installation, and training. In 2017 it received the Scaffold & Access Industry Association's Mast Driven Hoists and Platforms Innovation Project of the Year award for a material and access plan that used ten mast climbers to give multiple trades access to all sides of a 143-metre Toronto tower without piercing the new facade. Through Scaffold Exchange, you can find Klimer platforms and the providers who sell, rent, and install them.

OSHA Compliance & Safety Standards
OSHA does not have a standard written specifically for mast climbing work platforms, so on U.S. construction sites they are generally held to OSHA's scaffold requirements in 29 CFR 1926.451, along with the manufacturer's instructions. The consensus standards ANSI/SAIA A92.9 (mast climbing work platforms) and A92.10 (transport platforms) cover design, installation, use, and training in more detail. In Canada, provincial occupational health and safety regulations apply.
