About Hydro Mobile
Overview: Hydro Mobile is a Canadian designer and manufacturer of mast climbing work platforms (MCWPs) and transport platforms, headquartered in L'Assomption, Quebec. The company was founded in 1987 and later became part of AGF Access Group alongside suspended access manufacturer Winsafe. In 2020, BrandSafway agreed to acquire AGF Access Group, bringing Hydro Mobile into the BrandSafway family of access brands.
Hydro Mobile began in 1987 as a manufacturer and rental company serving the Canadian market. A group of shareholders led by Vincent Dequoy bought the company in 1994, and in 2002 it introduced the M2, a new generation of mast climbers for masons. Hydro Mobile grew into one of the largest mast climber manufacturers in North America, with thousands of machines sold, and was acquired by Quebec's AGF Group in 2010 before joining BrandSafway.
Hydro Mobile's platforms are designed for modern North American construction, where heavy masonry loads and tall facades call for high-capacity equipment. Its lineup includes heavy-duty ratchet-climbing platforms for masonry and faster rack and pinion models that can also serve as transport platforms. The company also runs Hydro Mobile University, which trains owners and operators on safe installation, operation, and transport. Through Scaffold Exchange, you can find Hydro Mobile mast climbers and the providers who sell, rent, and install them.

OSHA Compliance & Safety Standards
OSHA does not have a standard written specifically for mast climbing work platforms, so on U.S. construction sites they are generally held to OSHA's scaffold requirements in 29 CFR 1926.451, along with the manufacturer's instructions. The consensus standards ANSI/SAIA A92.9 (mast climbing work platforms) and A92.10 (transport platforms) cover design, installation, use, and training in more detail. Training is especially important, since mast climbers are only as safe as the crews who install and operate them.
- Installed per the manufacturer's instructions and engineering
- Mast ties and anchors installed at the specified spacing
- Rated load posted and never exceeded
- Guardrails on all open sides of the platform
- Installers and operators trained on the equipment
- Inspected by a competent person before each shift
